Western Pacific 77, a Ten-wheeler With a Passenger Train
Author: MartyBernard

Western Pacific 77, a 4-6-0 Ten-wheeler built in 1908 costing $12,247 and last used in November 1948.  She was sold for scrap to Luria Brothers, San Francisco, CA.  There is no informarion on the photo but we are probably in West Oakland, CA.  That's SP 2348, another Ten-wheeler left of center.  The photographer is probably Marvin Maynard.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

Great looking little train. I see photos of these modest mid-century consists  and think how fortunate one could be to ride them,
Think about it, nowadays this would be the railfan experience of the decade. Daytime ride in Harriman coaches up to Portola?
whew, where can I sign up?
