Steam & Excursion > Southern Railway Streamlined Ps-4 1380Date: 03/14/19 11:27 Southern Railway Streamlined Ps-4 1380 Author: Railroader76 Hello, I have a question about the Southern Railway streamlined Ps-4 that was used for service on the Tennessean passenger train. Precision Scale imports a very nice HO version of this model, and it looks great. However, I'm trying to determine why this model has a yellow band where the nose cone meets the boiler. From the prototype images I've seen, it appears that this interface is either green or steel color. I haven't been able to locate a prototype image with the yellow band in this location.
Does anyone know whether 1380 had the yellow band where the nose cone meets the boiler at any time during its service life? Thanks! Unfortunately this doesn't actually prove anything and I think we know how unreliable it is to determine color from a b&w photo.
