Has the railroad figured out the Frostburg turntable problem?

6 week old news, WMSR posted another update on 2/27/19.

Sign me up. Oh wait.

Apparently not, as the OP says the engine will back up on the return.

I'm pretty sure I remember that the folks at the WMSR made all the measurements of the wheel-base length of 1309 vs. the turntable length, prior to "going after" the 1309, i.e. the 1309 would indeed be able to turn on that 100 foot turntable. Guess they may have overlooked actually getting 1309 to the turntable.

WSM RR website has tickets for sale for trips beginning July 5th. Looks like they plan to operate 1309 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

That, or funds for track realignment to come at a future date.

The tracks leading to the turntable cross a street which will be an issue in getting that problem solved. 

If I'm not mistaken, running tender first was a common occurrence for the C&O's H class engines when they were in regular service. So I doubt it would be a problem at all for the 1309.
