Everett Railroad #11 - Cabin Fever Express
Author: tehachapi-dave

To kickoff the 2019 season last Saturday, The Everett Railroad operated a "Cabin Fever Express" from the station in Hollidaysburg, PA to Brookes Mills, PA and return.  The trips were pulled by the railroads former Narragansett Pier Railroad 2-6-0 "Mogul" type #11 locomotive that was built by Alco in 1920.

Enjoyed the 'ride'.  Thanks.  Passengers looked cozy in steam heated coaches on a cool day.  Mother Nature co-operated with nice skies.

The destination of this train was Brookes Mills, PA., not Roaring Springs, trains for Roaring Springs veer left at Brookes Mill Jct., 1/2 mile north of this train's terminus.
There is then a grade of up to 1.6% 3 miles up through McKee's Gap to the red brick x-PRR depot in Roaring Springs.

The first trip of the day at 11 a.m. went to Brooks Mills. A second trip at 1p.m. went to Martinsburg with a stop at Roaring Springs

The locomotive is groomed perfectly.  I want to commend the railroad on another good consideration. With the mixed colors of their passenger fleet...they kept like colors together...rather than mixing them up as on the past few years of the 611 trips out of Roanoke.  Nice job guys...and nice consideration.  It looks so much better.  Thank you!

Wait - so do you want trains that look good or trains that are historically accurate?
