Exactly what I was thinking. Any Difco side dumps through there lately?

We had the FRA pull the old red flag trick on us to test our skills one time with SP786 but this is an extreme issue.
Those are small boulders, needs to be investigated, looks like no accident.

That has to be a Difco side dump car or something equivalent. 

Rocks of that size are not going to be packed in to a relatively remote location by a pack of boy scouts -- or even a pack of great big men scouts. 

You would need to bring them in by rail -- or by a good size dump truck. Vandals aren't going to bring in by rail. 

It would take quite a bit of dedication and a generous dollop of stupidity for someone to get a big off-road dump truck and dump a load of rocks there. 

Plus the timing would be pretty poor, since UP had time to get an entire crew and a backloader out to clean up the mess before the 4014 and friends came along. . . . . 
 

Those stones are part of the reason the MofW had the train scheduled early today.  The track was clear for the special train.  More fake news making it look like a delay.This is how bad rumor start.

Abqfoamer, you are the person who posted about the Durango round house being dirty, causing Jerry Day to explode so he parted company with NGDF and D&S had to ban him as he did not represent the manors of the D&S.
