Lilliputian Steam.....WW&F in Maine
Author: mp208

Nestled away in the rolling hills above Wiscasset, ME  a reborn "Maine Two Footer" is ever expanding. Over 2.5 miles of track has already been laid on the original right of way of the WW&F (Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington) which was abandoned in 1933. The atmosphere of the volunteers is clearly "Maine...the way life should be"

The equipment might be small but the volunteer force isn't. They've fabricated and installed a sem-covered bridge over a
sizeable creek, installed an industrial siding, and are looking downhill at building a road crossing on an active highway.
Their track program is amazing, as is their site work, grading and hillside stabilization. Pretty tight group.

Interesting turntable. Engine balances on center. The perimeter support rail only extends where the engine enters and exits to auxiliary tracks and therefore becomes unbalanced

In the run-around clip, it sure looked like the switch was lined against the movement; is is a spring switch?
