June 3, 2019, a marketing rebranding and logo change was implemented, emphasizing the Northern Central route.
The website has been updated, the steam loco #17 is only being used a couple weekends  monthly until October.
There appear to be more special trains, albeit hauled by the GP-9.

Probably a good move ... if you're not a fan it's a stretch to imagine that "Steam into History" involves a locomotive or train.

According to Wikipedia, this operation runs between New Freedom and Hanover Junction, Maryland.

This is pretty funny, since my version of Wiki says Pennsylvania.

Oops!  I think the original Northern Central was in both states.

It was in both states, but our stupid Maryland governor, in office sometime back, a person who I will not name, decided to pull up the track in Maryland and make it a rail trail only.  In Pennsylvania the politicians who were in office used their heads and put a trail next to the existing railroad line which is a win-win for everyone.  Maryland political folks do not use good judgment when it comes to rail lines.  We also had a governor who came into office a few years later after the Light Rail Line had been in operation for many years, who decided that the Northern Central portion of the Baltimore Light Rail line should no longer have any freight trains running on the line at night when the Light Rail was closed down.  Keep in mind that when the Light Rail Line was built with all new tracks, it was built for the existing rail customers to continue to use rail service.  There were many rail sidings to many industries especially in the general Cockeysville area and all new switches were installed for these sidings.  His ridiculous decision to end freight service has put many more heavy trucks on I-83 from Cockeysville down into Baltimore via the I-695 Beltway which backs up with traffic every day.  The line was served by Conrail, then Norfolk Southern as there is a large quarry located in Texas, Maryland not far from Cockeysville that moves tons of rocks weekly plus there were many other freight customers.  All must now use trucks and the State of Maryland is paying the difference with our tax money for these shippers who used to use rail.  Stupid political leaders, all of them.
