Any idea what that white truck with the flashing lights that was pacing 4014 was up to?

I'm guessing photo and/or video.
 

I think it was one of those traveling “event trucks”, that, along with the paralleling Police, made chasing and getting pictures totally miserable.

They are called Incident Management trucks and normally are used to help with flat tires or coordinate tow trucks if you need help, and block off traffic lanes and show which way to merge with the big light board if there are accidents or events. In this case it was to keep the foamers off the shoulder of the freeway. They paced the train all the way down to Riverdale.

Great video! Even with the rain that turned out to be a great chase.

I was able to jump ahead of the train more times than I thought I would, even with all the traffic. Did luck into a short pacing stretch, and then jumped ahead for more photos. Was able to get ahead of it at Riverdale which was totally unexpected, but not by enough to get setup for a photo and had to just watch it cruise by. Didn’t really have any complaints about the UHP or Incident Management, they handled things pretty well.

I did hate the Public Safety helicopter, that was annoying background noise and totally unnecessary. You can just see it at the beginning of Dave’s video and hear it towards the end.
