For the nostalgia, Steam fans, as well a comedy fans.

On Amazon prime TV you can watch the old TV shows of Petty Coat Junction series with no Commercials, one after the other. I had a great time watching three of the old shows last night and the slap stick Comedy was great.

I don't particularly remember people getting knocked around on that show-- slapped with a stick or otherwise.  It could be called silly comedy, maybe even lowbrow.
Then the spinoff to GREEN ACRES probably qualified as surrealistic (because there was one normal guy trapped in the middle of a wacko world.)
