I finally had to give up and go get something to eat as I was starting to fade away. However, I did hear some whistling from the restaurant. There will be plenty of photos from the 30+ photographers up on the overpass. And I did get some pretty good photos of all the freights passing by in the mean time. Was 3 hours, not 4. Water leak repair took some, dispatching took some. Posted from Android Date: 07/08/19 17:43 Re: UP4014 departing Cheyenne Author: RailRat Thanks for the nice photos.

Having it swung out is really no big deal except for those who care too much about their photo. Perhaps they intended to swing it in but the steam leak diverted their attention. And those that care about the schedule are most likely upset, but they only matter to those who live in the upper floors in Omaha.
Wish them a good safe trip. Don Allender Date: 07/08/19 23:43 Re: UP4014 departing Cheyenne Author: Mgoldman LOOK Keystone - no flags! : )
Now... if we could just do something about that diesel! Nice shots, thanks for sharing! And a thanks go out to UP, diesel or not, still pretty freak'n wild! Horseshoe Curve is calling, lol. /Mitch Date: 07/09/19 04:20 Re: UP4014 departing Cheyenne Author: dcfbalcoS1 No idea what it takes to put the coupler 'in' or move it 'out' but either way it makes very little difference and if it is 'out' and usable, it makes it easy if they have to pull it.
Most steam engines had couplers out there in the open. |
