UP 4014 heading north at Dundas, MN.
Author: kelarson

Here is the Big Boy heading north at Dundas, MN on the Spine Line heading for St. Paul.  This is a couple of blocks from where 3985 was caught several years ago on its trip to St. Paul.

Nice! Lots of whistle, and looks to be moving along at a pretty good speed, maybe faster than 40mph?

Did I hear flat wheels in that train.  Say it isn't so!

I think yer right, Norm. Because it doesn't appear to be jointed rail.

I don't think so.
-  On the approach, you hear can "wind" sounds.
-  As the 4014 passes by, I do not hear anything abnormal.

Norm -

I cannot so it isn't so, becuse "it is so"... the 9th passenger car in the consist; the City of Denver, definitely has flat spots on at least a couple of it's wheelsets. If the "City of Denver" was in the consist from Ogden to Cheyenne, now I know which car had the flat spots on that excursion, that can also be clearly heard on  a couple of video clips that were shot with a broadcast quality; or high end prosumer video camera.
