Both Mallets, Clover Valley #4 and #7 Skookum will be running to celebrate the pounding of the final spike completing the
Transcontentinal Railroad. This happened at MP 33 in Niles Canyon on September 6th, 1869.

That last photo--where is that?  East of Sunol on the restored trackage, or elsewhere?  Can't remember the siding / switch...

I gotta go this weekend--great day to celebrate!

Very east end of the railroad so far along Pleasanton Sunol Road.
