Steam & Excursion > A Quiet Saturday Afternoon At The Shops With Steam At Rest!

You can almost hear the soft breeze rustling the leaves in the trees as it gently blows through the shops and yard of the English Lumber Company at Mt. Vernon, Washington.  This is a quiet Saturday afternoon and the shop forces have the afternoon off. 

We see that they have been giving 3-truck Shay #3 some attention as her smokebox door is open and their are new bricks for the firebox stacked in the cab walkway.  Work will resume early Monday morning when the shop crew returns.  For now her boiler is cold and will stay that way until she is ready to return to work.

For now, #3 and her crew take some much needed time off.
