Steam & Excursion > Diesel? Where?Date: 10/01/19 16:48 Diesel? Where? Author: bobdavis I got really lucky with the steam on this shot of the 4014 early this morning west of Evanston. It is NOT photoshopped! The 8643 just magically disappeared.

It is the best for sure. It just looks like a steam passenger train all the way. John in White Marsh, Maryland Date: 10/02/19 10:59 Re: Diesel? Where? Author: bobdavis Many thanks for all the nice comments! I didn't even realize the diesel had been steamed out until I downloaded the pic yesterday after getting back home from Evanston. It has to be one of the luckiest shots I've gotten in over 50 years of doing this madness.

Date: 10/02/19 20:18 Re: Diesel? Where? Author: santafe199 If that don't beat all..... Along with my own efforts, I've seen guys torture themselves to get the rods in the coveted DOWN position. But you come along and get the steam in a perfect down position as well. You get ***all 3 gold stars*** for that feat!!! You know, you just raised the bar for steam photography several notches in one shot...
;^) Date: 10/06/19 11:29 Re: Diesel? Where? Author: 4451Puff This makes me wonder, is there any video anywhere of the restored 4014 operating without a diesel behind it? Even on yard or shop trackage? T.I.A. For any answers.
