Very well written but the picture is priceless, they put a point helper on the train? I could certainly believe it
after seeing that Big Dog uphill through Ivanpah. But then the point unit might be to address the dynamics
issue.

That picture is from the trip to Cheyenne before the rebuild. SD70 4014 is leading and you can see the people riding in the tender

Really misplaced timing for the current situation...with 4014 being operational..

People riding in the coal space really dates it ...the 3985’s tender ( now behind 4014) has the oil bunker in that ‘well’ ...

In this clip, the 4014 is dead as a door nail...

That point helper in the video is because the video is from 2014 when 4014 was being transported to Cheyenne for restoration.

Thanks for the correction, seemed like a bit of overkill.

I forgot how goofy looking all those guys looked riding in the tender.

Thanks for reminding me.....

If it truly was dead as a door nail, we'd be hearing "chugga chugga" as we clean up our 5 o'clock shadows every morning.

I’m probably very dense...but, what does that post by  ‘mrwalsh85’ mean?
What about:  “Chugga-chugga” ?

Anybody got any ideas?

Those pics with the crowd in the tender were taken in 2014.....5 years ago...En route to being returned to service...
