Columbus Day Steam fest @ Strasburg RR; 10/14/19

While the 4014 out west has had the main attention lately, N&W 611 continues to pack 'em in at Strasburg.
Monday saw a heavy influx of children, along with a bunch of foreign peoples, I heard French and German being spoken.
Photo ops required a little patience, but weather was great compared to previous weekend.

I also visited the adjacent RR Museum of PA., and may share some images of that later.
All day #611 hosted cab tours and whistle blowing, and ran short 1.5 mile shuttles down just east of Esbenshade Rd.

Strasburg's 2-10-0 #90 had the regular trains, and seemed to not want to be upstaged by its bigger sister.
I would have liked to have seen #611 posed beside that position light signal.

Some more of #611 and its coming and going; this engine here at this location reminds me of a throughbred racer in a pony corral.

Photo three is my favorite. Years ago, who would have imagined the Strausburg water tower and 611 in the same photo?

N&W/Strasburg #475 was penned in for its cab tours, but did get to pose with some fellow antiques...

There was time before the last shuttle run to scoot down to the crossing at Esbenshade Rd. to catch #611 with its meager 3-coach train coming back west.

Last week I featured "tractor girl" this week you get "camera girl" this young lady's job is to shoot P.R. photos for Strasburg of happy families enjoying their train ride.
I must say that the Strasburg area seems to have a fair share of very attractive women in general, this young woman certainly showed a lot of confidence and cheerfulness in doing her job.
As #611 and train fades into the late afternoon sun, thanks to all who made it possible for me to shoot more photos of 611 in 2 days at Strasburg than I got in 4 days of chasing the blasted thing all over Virginia back in 2015-16. Not to mention the opportunity to get up close and personal with the engine.
Is it too much to hope for 611 to get to Steamtown? Or perhaps have a meeting of 4-8-4s next year at Port Clinton?

611 and 3 wooden coaches... talk about overkill for such a short train.  I bet 611 didn't even feel the load.

The more I look at your last shot, the more I admire it.  Took me a moment or two to find the train between the horse and the buggy.  Terrific series.  So many wonderful shots from Strasburg the past couple weeks from many T.O. members.  Thanks guys.

That sure looks like a great place to be when you got those great shots.  Three fine steamers and plenty of other attractions.  Photo girl is shooting the right kind of equipment, Nikon.  Thanks for those.  Wish I was there.

Thanks, I had time to frame the shot and fire 3 frames, that was the only one that worked.
I would not even tried this shot back in the old K64 days, but with digital there's always a chance?
Here are some more, including #90 coming in with the 2pm train while we wait on the 611 shuttle
As a WMRY nut, I was happy to ride in the Strasburg's Western Maryland coach
