Steam & Excursion > UP Big Boy 4014 Westbound Run

Finally got to look at my photos from the 10/13 Big Boy excursion. Seeing as my friends and I decided it was better to just hit a few spots rather than actually chase, I was kind of nervous that I didn't get anything. I have to admit I was much more happy than I expected to be with what I did get. We started at the Oro Grande/Victorville border, and took a kind of unique view of the train with the Mojave River Steel Bridge in the shot. From there, we drove all the way down to an area in Cajon between Blue Cut and Keenbrook. After that, we managed to just catch it at Rancho West and then again at Slover. All in all, a really fun day.

Last image is at Colton Crossing as the train gains clearance off the wye in order to back into West Colton yard.

Nice series.  A couple of the views really make it look like a model railroad.

Nice shots Charles! Considering the traffic, I'm truly amazed you beat it from Blue Cut to Mill St.

Nioce group there Charles. Sorry about boning your first shot there. We never saw anyone up on the rocks behind us until the end.

Thank you... and yes, different chases on different days. Wasn't speaking of this.
