Steam & Excursion > L&N 152 Boiler of the frame onto Flat

Kentucky Railway Museum removed the boiler of L&N 4-6-2 #152 from the frame on Saturday November 2. The boiler was placed on a flat car as an interim step in the move of the boiler to Strasburg for extensive renovation.  This is believed to be the first time that the boiler has been off the frame since the last Class overhaul was performed at South Louisville Shops in the 1940s.  
The lift was made using KRM's former US Army 40 ton crane.  In a prior post someone asked for info about the crane.  The third image is of the Builder's plate and an information plate.  American Hoist & Derrick Crane built in 1953.
