SOO 1003
Author: Mayfair Tower

Was out this past Saturday for to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Slinger, WI.  After the festivities she ran light to Burnett, WI for coal.  She will be out again this Saturday for the Hartford Christmas Parade and will have Santa in the caboose.  Thought I'd share a few photos from this past Saturday.  Enjoy.

Last one shot with an Iphone.  I think it turned out pretty cool.

Nice photos.

I wonder if it's at all difficult to make it run with no load behind it to make it draft well ?

Really Nice.   So glad to see this engine restored.   I had my photo taken on her front step after being parked at I think the sewer plant at Superior, Wisconsin.  The chain link fencing was there in a pile, but not put up yet.   We never had any idea that it would run again.   Nice lookin loco.  Thanks for the photos.

It is not difficult, a skilled fireman can fire a light engine or that of pulling a lighter load just fine with the proper adjustments and methods based on the situation. Never had a problem here..

My 1003 engineer friend may recall my total inability to draw water into the 1003 boiler. Just outside the Hartford museum a few years ago. Need to keep my day job.
