I believe that may not be true if they are taking the experience car with them across the rest of Kansas. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/19/19 09:31 by Bob3985. Date: 11/19/19 10:01 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: Copy19 Looks like they have cut off most of the passenger equipment in KC. One of the volunteers on the Experience UP car told me he was planning to leave the train in Kansas City "where the tour ends" and come home to Omaha. I see no exhibits are scheduled on the KP portion.
JB - Omaha Date: 11/19/19 10:31 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: displacedneb UP took both Challenger and Experience along with the support cars. The other cars were left at Kansas City for move to Omaha.
Just over 5000 thru Experience yesterday. No idea how many other folks showed up. But was crowded all day. End of my UP stuff for the year. I wanna thank the senior UP management for allowing all of this to happen. And thanks to Sean Mocynski and Dave Seidel for putting our group together. Now back to playing tourist and seeing relatives and friends. Posted from iPhone Date: 11/19/19 10:36 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: CPRR Well if the rumor was true, then the freight cars will be empty
Date: 11/19/19 11:23 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: callum_out Draft and braking, wouldn't hurt to pull some real revenue, even with service stops and overnight the train
would still beat most merch traffice these days. Out Date: 11/19/19 17:08 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: glendale CPRR Wrote:

Just quietly go home to Cheyenne
Date: 11/19/19 17:35 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: callum_out I noticed some piston rod leakage on the front engine in some of the videos, give them something to do this Winter,
that and reinsulate and heat the facility. Out Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/21/19 12:01 by callum_out. Date: 11/19/19 17:43 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: wko I don't know if it would be related to hauling some freight cars or not, but the schedule has changed slightly. They dropped the Tuesday layover in Denver, so next Tuesday it will head home, as opposed to next Wednesday.

I generally look at the springs in the truck. Absolutely NOTHING about the appearance of the car, nor the sound of the car, has EVER indicated whether empty or loaded. Then again it is also helpful to look at the manifest list. Date: 11/22/19 15:24 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Author: glendale HotWater Wrote:

So then you can tell whether or not these cars are loaded. also - how does an empty coal train not sound different than a loaded coal train? I have not found ANY differences on sound between an empty hopper train and a loaded coal train, especially on CWR. Date: 11/22/19 16:44 Re: #4104 to Pull Freight Across Kansas? Wow. Maybe you should get trackside more! And in looking at another video - looks like I was wrong, the cars appear empty. |
