See Flier for all the info. ***Note: The train will leave Downtown Fillmore around 2:00pm and head west to the Montalvo West Leg Wye arriving approximately 4:30pm where it will stage. Photo's 1 & 2 were taken on Metrolink's West Leg of the Montalvo Wye. This is former SP/UP trackage and was once part of Southern Pacific's Main Line from San Francisco to Los Angeles via Santa Paula. Pony truck axle bearing surfaces were in terrible shape.

Is this the same engine that was down by old town? If so, I did not know that! We was through there in 1990 on our way to Boston from San Diego and I remember seeing an engine that was supposedly a Santa Fe. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/29/19 09:01 by patd3985. > Northwestern 14. First steam engine I ever rode. Built for D&NE in 1913, served until 1967. When I was in high school and college you could buy a ticket to ride log train between Cloquet and Saginaw for just a few dollars. It entitled you to ride the caboose, but one could opt for the engines cab. Identical twin sister No. 16 is on display, fairly well cared for, in a park in Cloquet. Two other D&NE engines, both ex-D&IR 2-8-0's also survive. No. 27 displayed in a shelter at Barnum, MN, and No. 28 in service on North Shore Scenic RR in Duluth. BTW, that's Duluth and Northeastern. -LD |
