Couple more...

Shot 5: After waiting at the Loose Caboose for the excursion train to clear, #14 gets the mainline.

Shot 6: #14 passing the Santa Paula Depot with that awesome black smoke.

OMG a steam locomotive not of UP running on track that UP uses to deliver freight. Did the almighty Ed fly out and inspect it? Is there any reason why FWRY couldn’t do trains from E Ventura to Fillmore.?

The Ventura County Transportation Commission owns the line and FW can only operate to Bristol Rd MP404.7 without getting permission from Metrolink to operate to the East Ventura Station MP403.4 or .something. UP gets a free ride to Santa Paula.

Sure, but perhaps once every few months these days as Spears Manufacturing is barely getting a pellet car once a month.

Is Spers the last industry left? I thought there was a BMC Lumber or Stock Lumber or something like that in Santa Paula that UP served.

Spiers is it as a 'normal' customer. There may be a load lumber or pipe show up a couple times a year into Santa Paula for offload, but that may no longer happen.
