I was impressed with the way 488 handled moving snow.

Very nice! I see the familiar profile of a track jack there, what were they using it for? Maybe moving switch points that were buried under the snow?

They had it in case they needed it.

488 went thru the banks without slipping once.

Among all the things that attract us steam nuts, that is for sure one of them.  Great job by the crew, no slipping.  Probably lots of sand used.  Does 488 have a plow?  I don't remember, but if not, that is even more impressive.

Roger, thanks for seemingly being everywhere when it comes to covering the Cumbres & Toltec, we flatlanders really appreciate your efforts!

Hard to believe that snow could ever stop the power and majesty of a steam locomotive....   :o)  488 walked right thru it!
