That famous October, 1984, Sherman Hill fan trip in the snow produced plenty of raillfan Christmas card scenes.

That was a perfect Christmas Card shot trip over to Laramie and back. The train was pulled out of Denver with the 6922 to Speer where the power was swapped to make the Laramie round trip. 6922 took the train back to Denver. And it was only a year later that the 6922 was given to the city Of North Platte for their display in Cody Park. Also I believe that might be Jim Chval firing the 3985.

Not just a figurative "Christmas Card Shot", either. Audio Visual Designs released that shot as an actual card the next year.

A snowy vertical shot from this trip--it was a Trains magazine cover--was on Steve Lee's wall for a long time. Hope he still has it.
