B & W 759 Set 8 of 9
Author: scoopdejour

After more than 3 months of repair work by a great group of guys, the "Niner" is ready to head east from Conneaut, Ohio;

Photo 1: fresh out of the roundhouse in September 1968

Photo 2: local test run in Conneaut

Photo 3: home in Lebanon, NJ after receiving a full load of "sweet" coal and the typical HICO cosmetic treatment

Respectfully,
Hank (scoopdejour)

Thanks for the continuing back story. As one who was there to photograph part of her first trip, these segments have special meaning.

Our latest DVD covers the 759's run to Roanoke in 1971 and the last run of N&W's Pocahontas.

And there were plenty of old-timers around, either still working or retired. They must have really enjoyed that! Note the guys in photo two.

" I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that, now....."

With apologies to Bob Dylan....

Meaning that I used to "know it all..", couldn't be taught much,  etc...
Now that I'm older, I see things through the eyes of younger, inquiring mind...

Thanks Hank for the photos and the memories. Just curious, is that Wes on the right of the 2 men sitting on the bench in the # 2 photo???   Keep up the good work.

Jim Herron, which of your DVD's includes the Paul Gorath films saved by Tom and Liz Stephens? There was lots of NYC steam around Dayton, Ohio.
