NCRy is running many trains with 2-4-4-2 Skookum or 2-6-6-2T Clover Valley Lumber Co. #4 this year. Skookum probably will be on a good number of these trains.

The calendar at https://www.ncry.org/events/ lists steam train and diesel train operations open to the public.  Steam includes:

Sunday Daytime Steam Trains
Feb 16, March 1, March 15, April 5, April 12, April 19, May 3, May 10, May 17, June 7, June 14, July 12, July 19, August 9, August 16

Saturday Evening Steam Trains (very popular)
June 6, July 11, October 3

Just a question. I keep seeing and reading, regarding keeping at least 25 feet away from the track. back in 2017 at Peach Springs, a Reservation cop stopped to talk to us and said, stay away at least 25 feet from track. Is there any specific law, or do groups have there own., they look mighty close.

The typical Right if way is about fifty feet wide (it can be much wider) which is twenty five feet from the centerline of the track so perhaps the officer was keeping you from trespassing. Here, on the Niles Canyon Railway these folks purchased tickets on a charter to do just this. The group ogainizer would be working with the railroads operations manager and/or conductor to make sure things work safely and the guests were not in harms way and had a safe place to enter and exit the train and form a proper photo line.
