Actually most what is in this picture still exists: 473 is still in Durango, as is the turntable and the roundhouse got rebuilt after the 1989 fire. 464 is happily running in Michigan. The K-36 on the right is I believe 488 (plow, class lights) had one more year to run under D&RGW ownership, now taking care of business on the C&TS in Chama. The D&RGW sold off much of the property of the Durango Yard in the late 1960's, so items like the coal tipple and water tank can never be replicated. |
