Are there going to be any trips for UP 4014 in 2020?

I would imagine so.  I could care less for 4014, it's not as nostalgic as UP is making it sound.

Would be nice if it came back to SoCal.  Some might prefer to stay home and wash the Gran Torino.

In my case, the car would be a Plymouth Breeze.  If motivated enough, I would see 4014, but the sight of Dickens makes my blood boil.

Care to share your back story on how he's had such a deep personal effect on you?

Aparently he didn't run the choo choo the right way. Or paint said choo choo the correct color. Or myriad other things that aparently rip the space-time continuum to shreds here in TO land.

Last I heard they will be given a short period of time for travel this year, perhaps a month.
Possibility of a Northwest trip since it wasn't covered in the 150th tour last year or perhaps somewhere else.

Ok.....just thinking...what about just back and forth, Cheyenne to Ogden. That's where she belongs.   And, while I am day dreaming, I'd love to see RMRRC type trips, Cheyenne to Laramie, with 6 or 7 photo runs, each done twice (as the U.P. used to run with 3985, or, the 844 in two tone gray).  I remember riding many of those trips.  Buying tickets, supporting the excursion, and STILL getting plenty of quality smokey action pictures.   So...why not?     HotWater?

Because there is no longer any place to turn either the whole train, nor just the locomotive, in Laramie, i.e. the wye is GONE!!!!  Also, there aren't many, if any, sponsoring organizations left to sponsor such trips.

Ed was seen scouting in Sacramento recently, so that's a clue. 

       I wouldn't spend 10 cents to see this wheezing little tea kettle being pushed down any track by diesels and the arrogant window king hanging out the side either.

My theory based on rumors and no knowledge of the territory is it will go over Moffat to SLC, then to get to and from California, it will go old WP one direction and Donner Pass the other. It will make it up to Puget Sound, with a side trip into the Bay Area either going to or from the PNW. It would be great if they could host an excursion for ORHF.

You realize what he did to 3985?  His treatment of 3985 is beyond unacceptable.

That doesn't mean that 4014 is going there.

So if the steam program is given only one month for operations, guess that means no 844?
