Others have reported a NS PV has arrived Roanoke in preperation for the loaner to go home.

Breaking up the big 3 would NEVER happen if the Claytor boys were still here.    The NS doesn't want to figure it out and let it stay.   Remember what Al Capone used to say....."Every man has his price........what's yours?"        PERIOD!

it was a 5 year lease with out  the museum there would be no 2156

Roanoke had a chance to have the 2156 or any other Y class. They passed and St Louis and the IRM stepped up to save a pair. As the other saying goes “you snooze you lose”

Up until the mid-1970s one could be had from the local scrapyard in Roanoke.  Heck, Robert Claytor could have bought it with pocket change. But then if he had, I doubt if he would have become President of the N&W.

Sounds like tomorrow will be the day
2156 will start it’s journey back to St Louis.
