60th Anniversary news! Tickets for our mid-August anniversary celebration go on sale Wednesday, June 24, at 1 p.m. Eastern time. If you're local and want to attend the first day of the celebration — Thursday, August 13 — you can come to the EBT station and purchase tickets in the Gift Shop this Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. All tickets will be timed for entry, but you'll have plenty of time to enjoy a short diesel-powered train ride, a trolley ride, ice cream, and a tour of our machine shops and roundhouse. Thursday and Friday trains will run at 3, 4, 5, and 6 p.m. Saturday trains will run at 10 and 11 a.m., noon, and 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 each (kids age 2 and under are free). I'm fear that the "dark days" are going to be around for a lot longer than Uncle Sam wants you to believe. Although I am VERY HAPPY that the EBT has been saved, I think it is rather irresponsible to hold such an event until the pandemic is declared over, by Dr. Fauci or his designees, not by politicians.

As a research scientist, I can say that there is promising research being done on inhibiting the viral life cycle, vaccines, and real therapeutic leads. But this kind of work takes a while to be done well and safely.
