Did you look at the pictures in the linked article? One looks at posts like this, which seem all too frequent these days on this site and elsewhere, and you just have to shake your head. Crappy attitude + ignorance is a great combo. Go crawl back into your spider hole. No good deed goes unpunished. LJG Date: 06/27/20 20:06 Re: D&SNG RR donates hi-rail rescue vehicle Author: dcfbalcoS1 I asked because a lot of places donate junk to get rid of it and the reciever often thinks they can make it work.

Thanks for playing, now go back trolling another site on the internet. Date: 06/28/20 08:02 Re: D&SNG RR donates hi-rail rescue vehicle Author: BAB E25 Wrote:

It is not a hi rail rig as that would be one that allowed running on both rail and roads this does not. Steering wheel is just there because nothing more nothing less something to hang on to. And about the junk comment oh well itt just another TO comment. Date: 06/28/20 16:04 Re: D&SNG RR donates hi-rail rescue vehicle Author: PHall Copy19 Wrote:

Date: 06/28/20 17:18 Re: D&SNG RR donates hi-rail rescue vehicle Author: webmaster Doesn't look terribly useful for emergency use. It also looks like it is single direction which means that it will need to be turned on a wye to go the other direction. It would probably go in reverse at a single speed, but visibility out the back is poor. Large A series motorcars transmissions allowed for equal bi-directional speed. If they went to the trouble of modifying the transmission I think they would have modified the body to have a better rear visibility for moving in reverse. Who is going to maintain the vehicle when not in use? I see it as forgotten about until they really need it and it won't startup.
A highrail vehicle would be more appropriate so the vehicle can be put on the rails where needed and used for everyday rescue needs. Todd Clark Canyon Country, CA Trainorders.com Date: 06/28/20 17:45 Re: D&SNG RR donates hi-rail rescue vehicle Author: PHall webmaster Wrote:

Do they even make hy-rail kits for 3 foot gauge? How would you get power to the rails? Just about any full size vehicle rear end would be too wide! And this one appears to be in Australia judging from the terrain and the right hand drive. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 06/28/20 20:50 by PHall. Date: 06/28/20 22:24 Re: D&SNG RR donates hi-rail rescue vehicle Author: callum_out Yuh know, some days no good deed goes unpunished.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why a Highrail truck needs an intake snorkle. Arved Grass Fleming Island, FL |
