10.   Ferry move with freight at the TN/GA state line.  9/25/88  And amazingly, no chasers in the photo.  I think John Craft and I were the only ones out that day.

12.   Leaving Toccoa for Atlanta, crossing Wells Viaduct  11/5/89   By this date, they'd applied graphite to the smokebox front.

Number seven at Chickamauga Dam was my favorite for its creativity, but then I saw your image of 1218 crossing Wells Viaduct. That is an "A+" image.

Am envious of the freight move.  That looked like a good one.  I got to see on 2 different freight moves including that after the convention one in 1987 with all the empty hoppers.
   Alan was fond of Wells Viaduct and made a long hike in there several times.  Nice spot and you got a great shot on this trip.  I never made it in there, probably too tough with all the video gear anyway.  Plus I hate snakes!!!

I would have liked to have seen these locations since they are close to me. But, I was either the youngest engineer or the oldest fireman in Savannah at that time and had to make money while firing to cover expenses of engineer. Plus in 1988 my wife was very pregnant.

All very nice photos for sure with my favorites being the ones pulling the freight train which one does not witness very often in this day and age.

All 3 series were fantastic I really like #10 you can tell they are really working her in an all business like affair with freight and no crowds to make smoke for.

Around 20-25 cars.  Photo 10 shows the entire train.

Been enjoying your series.  Nice to see folks digging out good stuff from the past.  Nice pix in their own right, but they also bring back a lot of memories.
