Colorado Railroad Museum (CRRM) at Golden, Colorado, celebrated 1 August 2020 the restoration of Rio Grande Southern #20 to operation.  The 4-6-0 (ten wheeler) underwent a 14-year, $1.5 million dollar restoration.

Amazing to think that the poor RGS struggled to hang on by a thread for all those years and then 70 years later $1.5M was spent on just one of their locomotives.  I wonder what the RGS operators would think about that.

She is a beauty.  Money well spent.

Quite a variety of Rio Grande Southern equipment (geese railcars) at the Colorado RR Museum.  I wonder what percentage of their equipment from early 1950's was saved to be on hand at the CRRM-?
