American freedom train in Texas

The guy enthusiastically shaking hands in the center of the first photo is then
governor Dolph Briscoe.  My dad used to call him Dolphin Brisket.

Nice ones !
I saw the 610 and 4449 meet in Austin earlier.
Is this in the Ft.Worth area after the 610 brought the Freedom Train from Houston ?

Here you go-  that looks to be your Gov on the far right.  The speaker is Petr Spurney, president of the AFT Foundation.

Nice photo of the '49 and kids on bikes.
Once the 610 was delivered to the AFT in Austin, Doyle & Co ran the 4449 light up to Ft Worth where it waited a week or so until the until it replaced the 610.  If I recall it was a military supply base, so the 4449 was safe enough during the wait.  I'm guessing the bike photo was taken during that wait.
