Steam water stop (sorry no steam engine here) in early 1916 south of Juarez gives Villas troops a chance to rest a bit.

Pqncho Villa liked using trains to haul his troops and his horses, and this mobile use of transport often surprised the Federales.

Very interesting photo.  Can not see any guns on the men but there had to be a lot of them somewhere, maybe the box cars.

I had a great-great uncle who fought on our side in that war...
Not my idea of a troop train.

They are in friendly territory so probably no threat nearby, and of course
not like in the movies.

Interesting to note the car capacity in both Metric & English units..
That was even was a "thing", one hundred years ago..

"KGS"  is for Kilo-grams, or a unit of measure = the weight of 1,000 grams.
A single gram weighs about the same as a postage stamp..
