Steam & Excursion > Reading T-1 2100 - July 1962 FantripDate: 09/03/20 18:12 Reading T-1 2100 - July 1962 Fantrip Author: rkennedy2 Another ride on the Reading. This is dated July 1962. Don't have the trip destination or location of the runby and service stop, but the geography leads me to believe it's probably central PA / Lebanon Valley line to Hershey PA.

ALLEN Date: 09/03/20 19:34 Re: Reading T-1 2100 - July 1962 Fantrip Author: rkennedy2 I was two years old. Dad didn't take me along until '64.

Closest dates would be June 9th Ramble from Jenkintown to Hershey and June 23rd Ramble from Philadelphia to Port Reading,NJ. I would guess that this was the June 9th Ramble and the location was Lebanon. Any Takers ?

Here's a picture from the general area around 1996. The second main and middle track are long gone but the transmission towers visible in the second photo still stand.

So your June '62 date would certainly make sense. The original trip tickets showing route and date are not here in my house, but elesewhere. Thanks for posting.

I remember my great uncle (a former Reading engineer) making the comment about the inmates from the state hospital coming out to greet the passengers.
