Author: LoggerHogger While the lettering and certain aspects of this steam locomotive are all familiar to that of the Southern Pacific Railroad, that is where the similarities stop.
Given the location of this photo as the SP yards in Los Angelas, California, we clearly have an SP 4-6-2 that has been borrowed for movie work and the special effects folks want to make her look like a European locomotive. The 2445 went to SP de Mexico in 1948 and was stricken from the roster at the end of 1949, so that's a pretty narrow window.
