Skookum at Brightside in Niles Canyon Today

I've been meaning to check this one out since it arrived in the canyon recently. Not sure how long it will be visiting us here in California, so I didn't want to miss it this weekend.

Video and photo at Brightside, near Sunol, Ca. on 9/20/20.

I"m surprised they are allowing steam to run at all given the dry conditions and fire risk. Assume the railway is taking proper precautions.

It is an oil burner.

Do you have any word on work re-laying track toward Plesanton? Has Covid-19 or NIMBY's stopped progress?

Trackwork east has been postponed due to COVID-19 as you suggested, but is scheduled to restart early November. However prep work has been going on for some necessary upcoming bridge work at Happy Valley Road in Pleasanton.
