It may not be official but words on Facebook indicate that the Friends of the East Broad Top in person annual convention has been cancelled account of the extreme PA Governor.  Their Supreme Court had struck down the extreme restrictions but things are still in the air, and its not time to take a chance.  It was going to be a very limited size convention.  Better to save the $ & energy for more track spiking.  Later information will come out for a video convention which may open it up for many new fans to get a taste of the narrow gauge.

Do not fault the governor.  Believe me, this virus is still spreading all around our country as well as in various places around the world.  Too many people are still not wearing masks and practicing social distancing and they are not taking this seriously.  I'm sorry about the convention being cancelled but this is life in 2020 and it will still be some time even when we can be vaccinated before things get back to some kind of normal.  Everyone please be Safe and Stay Well.

You really need to:

1) Dial back the attitude and . 
2) Stop misrepresenting the Friends of the East Broad Top statement on its Facebook page.  There is no mention of Governor Wolf or anyone else in the Pennsylvania state government.

Cancellation of this event is zero evidence of Governor Wolf being extreme.  In fact, all or nearly all in-person railroad historical society/rail interest organization conventions and other events have been cancelled.

The Governor Wolf's measures restricting public gatherings are similar to the actions of other states' governors (of both political parties).  The main difference is that Governor Wolf and other Northeastern and some Midwestern governors took those actions sooner.

What is it about 200,000 US deaths that you do not seem to grasp?

Ok, here it is....      If you HAD Covid, and were run over by a bus, your death would be listed as cause of death....Covid... .....a terrible disease.

Absolute , top to bottom nonsense. Every actual qualified person who has looked at the epidemiology data reports that the estimated death toll is a gross UNDERestimate. 

if you're actually interested in the science, the overall conclusion is that excess deaths across the board are sharply up nearly everywhere the virus is in play. . Lots of people who would still be alive today except for Covid, are reported as dying from something else. Particularly important for a disease that throws a lot of curveballs, weird hyper-allergic reactions, blood clots everywhere, things that don't sound like an ordinary respiratory disease. Go talk to somebody who knows something first hand. This attitude in nonsensical and is killing people.

The data is:

For many years folks have been keeping death statistics for how many people die in a given time period. So it's common knowledge how many deaths would normally occur monthly.

In the USA, a Quarter of a Million more people have died in the Covid 19 time frame than would be expected. 200,000 are attributed to Covid-19.  Which leads us to expect that many of the other extra 50,000 deaths had some relationship to Covid 19, but thanks to the best, exalted and stellar testing ability in the mightiest country on earth, we don't know for sure.
