Steam & Excursion > Winter For These Railroads At This Town Was Cold But Beautiful!Date: 09/27/20 02:43 Winter For These Railroads At This Town Was Cold But Beautiful! Author: LoggerHogger Winter was clearly in full swing when one photographer braved the cold and the snow to capture this image in the 1930's at the joint Western Pacific/Southern Pacific depot in Westwood, California.
On the adjoining track we see Red River Lumber 2-8-0 #100 waiting for her next trip back to the woods. She was built for the Tonapah & Goldfield and sold to the RRL in 1914 along with her sister engines #101 and #102. You can almost feel the stillness in the air in this photo. Martin Edited 5 time(s). I felt it glancing at the image but hadn't named it until I read your caption. Beautiful photo.
