When waiting for the train to depart I listen to the radio chatter.

Roger, thanks for posting the shot about a week ago of running thought the fall colors.  I didn't know the C&TS was still running [or even running].  I immediately booked the Chama Osier turn for last Monday.  Good fall colors down below but a little past peak up near the top, but as always, best train trip in the country.

Very impressed with their handling of the Corona concerns, beginning with taking your temp before even giving you your tickets, to limited seating, mandatory masks, and even a volunteer[?] continually going from one end of the train to another wiping everything down with Clorex wipes.  The lunch at Osier was good and they also did a very good job of keeping people safe.

Only dower, just about nothing open in Chama for dinner.  We at the "Local" and they only had pizza, out of burgers the night we were there and with NM's restrictions we had to eat it outside and it was in the mid 40s, kind of chilly to set outside, not to mention after the first slice the pizza was cold.

C&TS using digital radio channel - wish I could have heard it.  Thanks for your recordings.

Being an ex-rules instructor for the SP and later the UP I was curious about how the C&TS dispatched their trains.  Talking to the crew, the Conductor told me TWC.  At the time I didn't ask, but later I wondered where is the Dispatcher located?

Unless they have changed fomats in the last couple of years, the C&TS is dispatched by Time Table and Train Order, with the dispatcher located in Chama.

It has been changed to I think Track Warrents. I am not positive about the name but I am thinking I am correct.

Well, that is too bad, another old time railroading tradition destroyed..

As far s I know, the C&TS was the last railroad to use Time Table and Train Order to dispatch trains.

I think this is the first year they are using the new system.
