Years Ago Today UP 4014 Palm Springs, California Author: wpamtk For an unstaffed shelter, the Palm Springs station is pretty nice, although it's well outside of town (but then, so was SP's West Palm Springs station of yore). It's interesting in that it is on its own CTC-controlled siding off the main, no doubt paid for by Caltrans. Only Amtrak 1 & 2 stop there, but there have been hopes for additional service.
