Its July 2011 and the NKP 765 is enroute to the Quad Cities (Illinois/Iowa) and the Quad Cities Trainfest 2011.

In this video, the Berkshire is at Bureau Junction, Illinois on the ex-Rock Island, having just come up the Peoria Sub when the current operator of thes lines, Iowa Interstate, and its BUreau SWitcher crew bring their assigned power alongside.

In short order, the steamer heads West thru Colona, Silvis and finally Rock Island for the multi-day event which also saw the IAIS pair of Chinese QJ locos, the CB&Q Nebraska Zephyr E5 and trainset among others.

That was a good time.

Good trips, but it was hotter than the hinges of hell that weekend. Temps in the 90s and dew points approaching 80. And very little breeze. 765 was on static display on Saturday. Even when spotted in the shade of an overhead bridge, the temperature in the cab reached 130 degrees.
