Agreed. Now,,,,,,, when the 2102 is returned to service, will the 425 be repainted to black, in order to match the 2102?

We’re the ex-ATSF CF7’s still on the Agway siding for this railfan weekend?

I can’t remember what year it was, but sometime around 88 I distinctly remember climbing on top of those CF7’s (as did a bunch of other fans) and watching the double headed 2102+425 come screaming south through Leesport.

In the moment it was awesome, but looking back 30+ years later I cringe at the risk all of us fans took to get neat photos.

I highly doubt that 425 will be repainted into the black scheme when the 2102 returns.  For one, the boiler time will expire in 2022, no reason to repaint an engine for a year and a half of service.  Two, her current blue scheme makes the 425 a unique and VERY good looking engine.  Why repaint it into basic black?  I have however heard some rumors of the headlight being moved back up top either next year or the year after.  To give it at least a bit of a nod to the previous era.  IMHO, this is the best this engine has looked her entire career on the BM&R/RBM&N.  Blue is best!
