Steam & Excursion > Builder's Plate IDDate: 11/25/20 11:34 Builder's Plate ID Author: nydepot Can anyone make out any part of these two plates? The round is from the boiler and the rectangle is from the cylinder. The photo is small. I've enlarged 800%. Thank you.

Here is what they would look like. Martin Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/25/20 11:38 by LoggerHogger. Date: 11/25/20 11:53 Re: Builder's Plate ID Author: nydepot Thank you Martin. Perfect. I'm thinking 2708? The engine is an 0-4-4T which isn't lining up with Bladwin's records.

Date: 11/25/20 17:17 Re: Builder's Plate ID Author: NDHolmes I'm almost wondering if there isn't a 1 out front that's been lost in the image compression except for the bump. Otherwise the 2708 isn't terribly well centered. Then again I don't have any Baldwin plates that are just four digits, so maybe they weren't well-centered. First time I looked at it, I would have guessed 12708.
Date: 11/25/20 17:18 Re: Builder's Plate ID Author: nydepot We figured it out. Look at the dot before the 2. It's 12703, which matches up with an LIRR unit from Baldwin. The 1 is mostly chipped off.
