Builder's Plate ID

Can anyone make out any part of these two plates? The round is from the boiler and the rectangle is from the cylinder. The photo is small. I've enlarged 800%. Thank you.

Charles

This is from a Vauclin Compound Baldwin.

Here is what they would look like.

Thank you Martin. Perfect. I'm thinking 2708? The engine is an 0-4-4T which isn't lining up with Bladwin's records.

It could be 2703.

I'm assuming this is an 0-4-4T?

Too bad 2708 or 2703 don't match up with Baldwin records as far as an 0-4-4T. This should be a former Chicago & South Side El loco.

Try a 6 instead of the 0......

I'm almost wondering if there isn't a 1 out front that's been lost in the image compression except for the bump.  Otherwise the 2708 isn't terribly well centered.  Then again I don't have any Baldwin plates that are just four digits, so maybe they weren't well-centered.  First time I looked at it, I would have guessed 12708.

We figured it out. Look at the dot before the 2. It's 12703, which matches up with an LIRR unit from Baldwin. The 1 is mostly chipped off.
