Long Beach CA Jan 5-8

This posting is a short one, and I didn't take any photos (sorry)- but it's part of my story.

Late Sunday on the 4th I went down to watch while the AFT was reassembled (it had been separated into 4 sections for display) with a pair of SP GP35's making most of the moves, and then tucking in behind the 4449 to act as helpers for the climb over Chatsworth grade. (both failed and shut down en route, never helping anything). Once all buttoned down, they steamed out of Santa Barbara and down the Coast at 2am.

Even though my failed application to go with them had been kind of a lark, the idea was pretty intriguing...

So

On about Jan 7th I drove down to Long Beach and again found Marty. I had done my homework: I knew what HVAC was! (Just knowing what it was probably wouldn't be considered a skill- but maybe it would make me appear, you know: savvy!)

Marty had nothing for me.
