Strasburg #90 and #475
Author: bigsavage

Saturday, 3/27/21, Strasburg had 4-8-0 #475 on the 4 regular trains, while 2-10-0 #90 handled the "In the cab" assignment down at Leaman Place.
#475 is seen approaching  Paradise Lane, and then passing the SRR dead line.

On arrival at Leaman Place, #90 was getting a water delivery from a contractor, the in the cab experience involved the passing siding here, and about 1/2 mile of track west around Long curve.

When the 475 arrived with the regular passenger trains at Leaman Place, a shuffling of the engines would take place, enabling a few more photo ops.

As a weather front rapidly approached, we shot the 475 and its train at Esbenshade Road, and finally at Cherry Hill Rd.
Hard to believe that almost 18 months have passed since 475 performed with big sister #611 at Strasburg.

Thanks for the nice photo coverage of the best tourist railroad in the nation. I often think how fortunate we are to have Strasburg where the gold standard is on display every day as an objective for the rest of us to shoot for.

A class act for sure. Thanks, Ross Rowland

You did a great job capturing a daily routine.  Great variety of locations.   I would guess that these are the most photographed steam engines in the world.  Almost every passenger takes pictures, probably mostly with cell phones.  But even with "real" cameras too.

Brought back fond memories of  the 90 in cab experience.  Got to do the run around for the regular train, although the Strasburg engineer had to do the piece on the actual interchange track.

Thanks for the great coverage.   The VR Leaman Place camera offered an overhead view of the locomotive shuffle, and change of ends, too.

I think they're done with steam pushed plow extra jobs for this year, though
