Saturday's track car excursion on the RBMN
Author: Pattenburg

Saturday's track car excursion departed Schuylkill Haven (PA) and headed to Port Clinton where some of the cars were turned. After that it was on to Tamaqua where a large number of people were awaiting their arrival at the station. This trip had to have one of the largest number of track cars that I have seen in a while with just about every railroad represented judging by the various paint schemes and names. From Tamaqua they proceeded through the 3,500 foot long Mahanoy Tunnel, ride the Shamokin Branch to its junction with the Shamokin Valley RR  before following the same route back to Schuylkill Haven.

Photo 2: Of all the track cars, B&O 6240 is one of my favorites for its paint scheme.
Photo 3: The track cars arrival in Tamaqua were greeted by a throng of spectators.

Thanks for your coverage of the RBMN motorcar excursion and your appreciation for the B&O 6240.  It is blessing to own and operate this piece of american railroad history.   The car is a Fairmont MT-19B and was delivered to the Union Pacific Railroad, Omaha Nebraska, in July of 1987.  It was repainted into the Chessis System colors, by Steve Rinker of Romney West Virginia, using the same paint that Rodney Matheny used to paint the real B&O GP-9 # 6240 in about 2005.
Motorcar operations is a great hobby and not as expensive as you might think.  Tons of great people enjoy this hobby and if you are interested, more information can be obtained at www.narcoa.com
thanks Eric

What does THAT have to do with the subject of the track car excursion?????   Also, why are you shouting?   Lastly, why not post a separate subject on the Steam Railroading (Steam & Excursion) board, and ask your question?
