Shot in the dark for Trainorders (N&W No. 611)
Author: Mgoldman

Here's one, pixels just drying off, from the Strasburg Rail Road taken back in October, 2019.

A clerk for the N&W Railraod holds up trainorders for the fireman of No. 611 as the crew
prepares for departure.

Lighting and scene set up by Lerro Productions.  Shot with a Canon 5D Mark IV (gasp!), at
1/40th, 5.6, ISO 2500  - cleaned up considerably with an application of "Topaz Denoise".

Check out these photos - especially the black & white photo shared by Laird Barber - featuring
the ICG fireman recieving trainorders - "Hooping up Trainorders" - I think you'll find them, and
the ICG one especailly fascinating!

Classic image, but he had better stand closer to the action to hoop up those orders! He won't do it from that far away!

Exactly what I was thinking! Stellar stuff here, and who cares where the blankety-blank operator is standing. He is perfectly silhouetted against the background steam...

I cannot imagine that the 1940s EVER looked better than this.  Simply stunning.

Congratulations on IOTD.  Well deserved.
