Nice shots, I was excited about this until what happened after this and I was there when they were getting ready for that move during the LA County Fair and asked how's it coming, sad they didn't give me a good response, they were too serious to even interract in my opinion!

Those were simply amazing days at Pomona!!!. The rain shown remains me that UP didn't think to put a simple roof over the rail club's collection as part of the deal to get the 4014. From a former museum curator's POV that was a missed opportunity and a shame for the collection.

Is it your point that it is UP's fault that the museum doesn't have a roof over its collection?

Not at all. I was not party to the negotiations between the club and UP. I don't know if it was anybody's "fault" or breach of fiduciary responsibility, although your question seems rather protective of a multi-billion dollar corporation, of which I am a shareholder. What I'm suggesting, as a former museum curator, is that protecting the collection, ANY collection from the elements is paramount. I mean a simple steel columned corrugated-roofed structure couldn't have been that expensive given that the 4014 was apparently the one and only Big Boy in the world that could be restored given UP's budget and time left before the 150th anniversary of Promontory.

The RailGiants Museum, a chapter of The Railway and Locomotive Historical Society, is a tenant of Los Angeles County at the Pomona Fair Grounds.

As such, any changes to the grounds or structures would be subject to and require permission of The Los Angeles County Fair.

But please, do not let facts and circumstances get in the way of your suggestions.

Agree JST. I was trying to follow the trail of where the finger of “fiduciary blame” was being pointed.
